Can you Find the Drug Stash? Mock Teen Bedroom
You won't want to miss this immersive learning experience presented by the Center for Humanistic Change.
ADULTS ONLY. Visit the mock bedroom prior to the 6 p.m. Cris Carter presentation.
It seems like a typical teenager’s bedroom, but look more closely and what you find will shock you. What looks like an ordinary item, such as a water bottle or hairbrush, may actually be a “diversion safe,” used to stash drugs and drug-related paraphernalia. These containers are easily purchased online and at local retailers. This interactive experience challenges parents and caregivers to try to find the more than 100 hidden items, including:
- Mock drugs
- Seemingly real containers that are actually “Stash Safes”
- Drug paraphernalia
- Common household items that can indicate abuse
“Search your kids’ rooms and everything in them! They’ll be mad, but I would have rather had my son be angry with me than plan his funeral.”
-Alison Loyko, mother of Christopher Loyko, Whitehall Class of 2011
This learning experience, the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley, is made possible by:
